This song is excellent for an amateur attempt and my, oh my, does it ring true. It is exceptionally witty and expresses the frustrations of many South Africans at the state of politics in the country. As a current expat who will return very soon, I must say that this song makes me quite happy. It shows that South African youth are slowly starting to break out of the oppresive, outdated mode sof thinking imposed upon them and think outside the box. They are starting to want what is best for the country and starting to realise that what is best does not necessarily mean the ANC. And finally it gives me hope that all will be well because it showcases South Africans’ best asset: the ability to laugh at ourselves. (I especially enjoyed the ‘mshiliwang’ chant towards the end). And hope was, after all, Pandora’s greatest legacy.
