The 2010 SA Reunion in London is in just 10 days!
The biggest jol of the year to date is in just 10 days time and the hype is reaching epic proportions…The 2010 SA Reunion in London Dance Fest is peeking over the horizon and tjooning… "Sappening!"
If you haven't got your mincy paws on tickets yet, now would be a good time to think about that, because The SA Reunion in London Dance Fest is looking to be a sell out… from the 1000 tickets available, I hear there are only 300 left which means, with still 10 days to go and most people's habits of Lastminute.com madness when the most tickets for any event are sold, it doesn't leave much to be sold during the gold rush… so think about… you know you are gonna be one of those that finds out at the last minute that all your mates are going and you'll be scurrying around for tickets that are no longer available… sorry for you… but you should have gone to SpecSavers
… why am I telling you this, because what better than to party with my peoples… my PharSide peoples
To help you along, I'm going to be giving more away tickets on the PharSide FB Page this evening (Thursday 12th August) at around 8:30pm… so make sure you've got your click finger ready because you've got to be quick off the mark…
Check out the promo video for the event!

Thinking of heading back to SA?… if so, then read this
Have you ever thought about packing up the huge amount of stuff that you've hoarded over the few years that you've been in London, (even though you came over with just one bag) and making the great trek back to SA, but the thought of starting from scratch again scares the daylights out of you to the extent that as unhappy as you really are, you battle it out. For some of us London is absolutely awesome but there are some who miss SA way too much to be away any longer. Well here's a little something that will help make that return a whole lot easier, thanks to Homecoming Revolution… and its all happening this weekend.
Ayoba! Homecoming Revolution to host Bafana Bafana Captain at London Event
Aaron Mokoena, The Bafana Bafana Captain, will address South Africans living in the UK at the Homecoming Revolution London Event on 21 March. This is a fantastic opportunity for Aaron to get South Africans in the UK to support their National Team and excited about the impending World Cup. He will also share his personal story and his pivotal role in making a contribution to creating a better South Africa. He recently launched the Aaron Mokoena Foundation in the UK. The inspiration for the Foundation is Aaron's desire to increase and improve opportunities for children and young people across South Africa using the power of football to impact on education, health and life opportunities.
Martine Schaffer, Managing Director of Homecoming Revolution said: “We are thrilled that Aaron is going to be sharing his story with the South Africans in the UK at our event. In this momentous World Cup year, Aaron is probably one of the most important people in South Africa right now. He also represents, that you can live elsewhere and still make a very significant contribution back to your home. He is definitely one of our modern day icons and we hope that after July he will have lead his team to victory. We are using the event to create excitement around the football and we can think of no-one more prevalent than the Bafana Bafana Captain.”
The event will be held on the 20th and 21st March 2010 at Kensington Olympia Conference Centre in London. The event is aimed at South Africans living in the UK and will give them the opportunity to meet directly with high profile employers who are searching for talent. It will also give them a chance to find about purchasing property, schooling and post graduate education, starting up businesses, setting up bank accounts, and immigration advice. The exhibition is supported by a speakers programme.
A selection of the companies that will be exhibiting for skills at the event include: First National Bank, Group 5, Edcon, Foschini, Nedbank Capital, Investec, CSIR and South African Breweries. They represent a broad cross section of skills across a variety of industry and should offer professionals a good variety of opportunities. Recruitment Agencies will also be attending. The Independent Schools Association of South Africa will be offering advice on schooling in South Africa and both Gordon Institute of Business Science and The University of Stellenbosch Business School will be showcasing their post-graduate studies, including MBA advice. Also plenty of advice on investing in property.
Other speakers will cover topics from business to education and include Professor Nick Binedell from Gordon Institute of Business and Professor Cheryl de la Rey the new Vice Chancellor of University of Pretoria.
Aaron Mokoena was called up at the age of seventeen to join the National Team Squad, following impressive form at Jomo Cosmos and Ajax Cape Town. He quickly moved to Europe when he played for Bayer Leverkusen, Ajax Amsterdam and Genk. He moved to the English Premier League and currently plays for Portsmouth. He will captain the South African Bafana Bafana Team for the World Cup and is the country’s most capped player.
The Homecoming Revolution is an independent non-profit organisation that encourages and helps South Africans around the world to return home. Founded in 2003 the organisation has played a key role in assisting and re-assuring South Africans on their journey home.
The Aaron Mokoena Foundation launched in the UK in February. Underpinning the Foundation's ethos is an understanding of the role football can play, not only in creating and improving the skills and performance of young players but also the key role football can play in a uniquely broader role in society by bringing communities together. In the year in which South Africa hosts the 2010 World Cup, the Foundation will seek to work in partnership with a broad range of organisations, to shape, design and deliver a range of safe, stimulating and exciting opportunities targeting young people.
I'm gonna be heading down on Sunday to check it out so see you guys there!

Check what's going down at Suburban in Wimbledon… Saturday's Dead Celeb Party sounds like a winner!
You've gotta hand it to the boys over at Suburban, quite possibly Wimbledon's busiest bar as far as pouring drinks in record time is concerned, its an experience just to check how these okes operate. Don't ask me where they get the energy from but these boys are on top form from the second that door opens until the last drink is served, and as many a Saffa in Wimbledon will tell you, they really do know how to throw a banging party! Joe Cools London opens in just 2 days! It’s gonna be insane!
In just two more days, the much anticipated Joe Cools London opens its doors on Friday 18th December 2009. Due to the ridiculous response, the opening night is now becoming the opening weekend which alone is bound to even put New Years Eve to shame!
Yes, so its finally happening, Joe Cools is finally opening right here in London. You may remember back in September there was mention of it opening in early December, however after a short delay the time is now upon us. Many Durban locals and Gauteng vakansie goers will understand the hype surrounding the legendary club at its original location right on Durbans North Beach, and now our main man Guy Van Der Post, owner of Joe's in Durban and many other clubs in South Africa, has given us our very own one right here on our doorsteps, well just about.
Joe Cools London is situation at 4 Fulham High Street in Fulham, in easier terms for us saffas, the venue formerly known as Zulu's, which in itself has seen its fair share of prime South African jolling… trust me I should know
The club boasts 2 dance floors, 5 bars, a sun deck (which should be awesome in summer) and can pack in 900 jolling Saffas, so it sounds like its gonna be wild. If the decor of Joe Cools Durban is anything to go by, then you know that its gonna look absolutely amazing. If you were like me and lucky enough to get complimentary tickets for opening night on Friday, best you get your party shoes and disco pants on because oh dear, its gonna be insane.
Unfortunately there are no more comps available for Friday due to the incredibly high response, however if you send your details via their website at http://www.joecoolslondon.com you can still get for Saturday night. They will be letting in people without tickets on Friday night after 21:30pm, however this will depend on the amount of people in the club at the time, however I'd say its worth a shot as you're bound to have some early birds bailing early.
If you're new to London and weren't fortunate enough to experience Zulu's in its prime, here's directions from Wimbledon…
By Train: District Line to Putney Bridge, come out the station, walk up to the main road where all the buses are coming from (Fulham High Street), turn right, walk passed the robots and on another 100m and its on your left just before the roundabout (trust me you can't miss it)
By Bus: Take the 93 from Wimbledon Station, get off where it terminates at Putney Bridge Station, walk up to the main road where all the buses are coming from before you turned into the station (Fulham High Street), turn right, walk passed the robots and on another 100m and its on your left just before the roundabout (trust me you can't miss it)
Don't ask me to explain how to get back to the station from Joe's because I rarely managed to achieve this in a memorable state when I used to frequent the venue, so I'll leave that up to you
There are a couple of Bar Staff positions going, so if you're hot, funky, got the vibe and believe you've got the mustard, send your CV and a pic over to, workjoes@gmail.com and tjoon them you're a PharSider
See ya'll this weekend for one MASSIVE jol!

It’s Miller Time!
My mate Brad is about to embark on the Miller “Rock The Boat” 3 day party cruise from Durban – Mozambique this weekend which sounds like its gonna be one mother of a jol!… if the flyer is anything to go by…
There has been no Facebook status update of Brad’s this week where he hasn’t mentioned the cruise, so I guess its safe say, he’s a tad bit excited for the event, to the extent that he has gone and done this
I hope they at least give him a case of Miller Draft for this
While we sit here wrapped up in coats and holding umbrellas above our heads in London, this is what’s going down back in Durban Town… March 2010 couldn't come sooner!
Enjoy the trip guys! Send us a post card mkay

Big Boss Mandoza and TKZee are gonna be in the area!
Yes you did read that correctly… Legends of Kwaito, Mandoza and TKZee are coming to London! WOOT! WOOT!
For those of you that pick up a copy of The South African newspaper every Tuesday morning, you may have already noticed this, however Mandoza, the man behind the well known South African club anthem, Nkalakatha is going to be doing a show right here in London very soon.
I can't believe its been around 10 years already that Nkalakatha started busting out in just about every club in South Africa, not to mention also played during rugby games when tries were scored. I remember one of my best mates Rhys Williams dancing to it with all his staff in the back at Jabulani Butchery in Warwick Triangle, Durban whenever it played on the radio. Not to mention Mandoza doing a live performance of it for the final show of Big Brother 1 in SA, remember Ferdi, Bad Brad, Margaret and the likes? I can't believe how time has flown as it still feels like yesterday, just goes to show how much fun I've been having in London, cause damn its gone quick.
The show takes place on Saturday 5th December at Stratford Rex in Stratford on the east side… a bit of a trek for us South-WestSide locals but I think given its Mandoza and TKZee, it should be well worth the effort. Tickets are £25 in advance from TicketMania on 02085550044. They've got quite a lineup for the evening which starts at 9pm and runs all the way through to 5am Sunday morning… EISH! Big Night!… More Info
Just in case you haven't been very observant for the last 10 years or so… here a vid of Nkalakatha
