Yvonne Chaka Chaka live at London’s AfrikaFest 2016

Yvonne Chaka Chaka, fondly known as the "Princess of Africa',  has been at the forefront of South African popular music for 3 decades. Not only was she the first black child to appear on South African television in 1981 but she has shared the stage with the likes of Bono, Annie Lenox, Queen, Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela and Johnny Clegg. She has performed for Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and former USA president Bill Clinton.

Chaka Chaka, is keen to have her audience understand that the power and future of Africa lies in empowering her women and children. With her on-going commitment to people and her divine love for music, Yvonne Chaka Chaka has continued to break barriers and champion causes that few others would dare to, including AIDS TB Maternal and Child health, for which she was awarded the World Economic Forum WEF Crystal Award in Davos in 2012, becoming the first  African woman to be recognised for using her powerful voice to bring about social change. She remains a dedicated Roll Back Malaria Ambassador since her backing vocalist, Phumzile Ntuli died of the disease in 2004.Her song "Amazing Man" is a tribute to her long-time friend and the man of the world, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and all the African leaders who gave us back our dignity and to celebrate Africa. The Concert will be a brilliant collection iconic songs that Fans all over the world know and love.
