It’s Nelson Mandela’s Birthday! Pledge 67mins!

Today we celebrate Nelson Mandela Day on Madiba's 94th Birthday, you have the opportunity to wish him Happy Birthday and make a pledge, you may even get the chance to present the Pledge Book to the Nelson Mandela Foundation in South Africa…

Today 18th July 2012, is Nelson "Madiba" Mandela's 94th Birthday, a day of celebration not just for Madiba's birthday but a day to reflect on his legacy to the world. Today is otherwise known as Nelson Mandela Day, a day that is primarily celebrated in South Africa but should be celebrated and recognised world wide since he is in my opinion, the greatest living human being and one of the greatest human beings that has walked the earth. A man that I have wilfully studied in great depth, a man I have the utmost respect for, I certainly feel honoured to have lived during the time that his legacy has been brought unto the world, if I had one wish, it would be to shake hands with the man I may very well call, father. Since like my father, he has  taught me so much about how to be a person with vision and understanding, to treat people with the respect and care that they deserve, to appreciate and live life in a way that has a positive effect on society. He truly is a living legend.

Before I carry on I'd like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY MADIBA!!!

Today you have the chance to celebrate the life of Nelson Mandela in a way in which he would, you can simply pledge 67 minutes of your time which signifies Nelson Mandela's 67 years of public service, by helping others.

Simply head over to the Nelson Mandela Day Pledge Book page and add your birthday wishes and pledge to the book that will be presented to Madiba himself. Supported by the UN & global stars such as Lewis Hamilton and Desmond Tutu, join millions more building a global movement for good.

While you're there, grab yourself a Nelson Mandela Day Twibbon and instantly tweet a message to your followers so that they may also send their birthday wishes and make a pledge.

Last but not least, all pledges will be placed into a draw and the winner that is drawn will be flown to South Africa to present the Nelson Mandela Foundation with the pledge book (see website for details).
