The big debate: To return home or not to?

No matter how hardcore you may be at adapting to life in a new country, I can pretty much guarantee that at some point you’ve experienced the deep heartache of wanting to return home to African soil. It happens to all of us. We miss the familiarity of the people and places we cherish and question if we did the right thing by moving abroad. We ask ourselves why we want to stay vs. why we want to go home. We rant on social media about missing out on special family occasions and the ease of popping in for a visit without a needing to give a month's calendar notice.  But then we also worry about what we see in mainstream media. For some, the desire to move home never goes away…

For one of us, that desire led not only to making the big move but also to providing a platform that helps others do the same. Angel Jones, CEO of Homecoming Revolution, returned to South Africa and launched this initiative back in 2003 to reverse the 'brain drain' of the 1990s. To date it has helped thousands to make their dreams a reality, settling into life and work under that awesome African sunshine.

Whether you’re serious about moving home in the near future or perhaps you’d just like to have a nosey, chat to others and keep yourself informed about employment and other opportunities in South Africa then why not join Angel and this year’s keynote speakers at the Park Plaza Victoria in London for an evening cocktail reception on Friday 4th March or on Saturday 5th March 2016?
