A Puppy On The Brink Of Death Gets Thrown A Lifeline in KZN

A mange covered and extremely malnourished puppy was saved from a dismal death by a legendary couple who spotted him wandering aimlessly on his own in a sugarcane field near Kosi Bay on the North Coast up from Durban... howz this little fighter!?!

Manky, as he's now known, was spotted by a good samaritan couple who were on their way back from Zululand to Durbs after a holiday a couple months back in August. After a long three months of pretty hectic rehabilitation at the SPCA in Empangeni, Manky has gone from a ponging dilapidated wreck to one jollying happy springing pup.According to Cheryl Whittaker Spokesperson for Empangeni SPCA (who I'm sure must be related to my mate Chris, I mean, Empangeni ain't that big), said
The dog was in a bad way when he arrived. His whole body was covered in mange sores and infection. He had no fur to speak of...His rescuers drummed up the support of friends and colleagues who have funded much of Manky's treatment as well as funding special food for him.In colder weather, Manky had four jerseys to keep him warm because he was unable to regulate his own body temperature. He is such a happy little dog and plays with the kennel dogs on our property and is much happier around people. He is now being socialised and taught to play and to trust,”
Check out this pics of Manky's progressive journey from rags to riches... you've gotta hand it to the little bugger for pulling through like a champ!MASSIVE thanks to the people that gave him a lifeline...definitely deserving of a virtual High 55!

If I could sum myself up in one quote, I believe Steve Jobs said it best… “Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently, they’re not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
