Jonny Wilkinson is offered an England Role by Eddie Jones

The new England Rugby coach, Eddie Jones has said he has offered Jonny Wilkinson a role with England.

Eddie Jones recently left his post with the Stormers to take a new role in reigniting England Rugby after a rather dismal first round exit during last year's phenomenal Rugby World Cup... and before any of us South Africans start giggling about that, let's not forget who was coaching Japan when they beat us in our first game... in the event that the current politics in SA Rugby don't worry you, then Eddie Jones coaching England certainly will...I'm sure we'll get our first taste of that come November when the Springboks Tour the UK for the Autumn Internationals.Eddie Jones is said to have recently by chance, bumped into Jonny Wilkinson at a Waitrose down in Bagshot near the England Training Ground of Pennyhill Park, Surrey.Although the talks were inconclusive, Jones is reported to have said the following:
“We would like to get Jonny involved, but he’s quite a private person. We are having chats about it,” Jones said.“I saw him down at Waitrose shopping with a beanie over his head. I had coffee with him.”
Jones believes that apart from "The Boot's" technical knowledge, he could surely inspire the England Squad and help restore their confidence.
“After we had coffee he went and did a kicking session and he doesn’t play any more. Why was he one of the best in the world? Because he did that. That’s the difference,” Jones said.“A good player has that little bit extra, and we are talking about two or three per cent extra. He does that little bit of extra analysis, stretches, goes for a swim and takes a bag of balls to kick.“I want that attitude and I want to see how desperate they are to become a better player.”
Jonny Wilkinson is currently employed as a part-time coach for current European Champs, which is the French side of Toulon (of which Springboks Bryan Habana and Duane Vermeulen play for) which is where he also finished up his outstanding Rugby career as a player.Something tells me the RFU are going to also make him and offer he can't refuse... as they did with Eddie... I hope they do... The amount of experience Jonny would "bring home" would be invaluable to England Rugby.Nice one boys 🙂

You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
